Morocco fans crashed the pitch to protest a late goal.
The goal, which was scored by Argentina's Lionel Messi in the 90th minute, gave Argentina a 1-0 victory and a place in the semi-finals of the 2024 Olympics.
Moroccan fans were furious with the decision to award the goal, which they claimed was offside. They stormed the pitch and surrounded the referee, who was forced to abandon the match.
The incident is the latest in a series of crowd disturbances at the 2024 Olympics. Earlier this week, a match between Brazil and Egypt was also abandoned after fans invaded the pitch.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has condemned the violence and promised to take action against those responsible.
“We will not tolerate violence at the Olympic Games,” said IOC President Thomas Bach. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that those responsible are punished.”
The IOC has also announced that it will be reviewing its security measures for the remainder of the 2024 Olympics.
