Habitat and Distribution

Cicadas thrive in temperate to tropical climates, and Thailand's warm and humid environment provides an ideal habitat for them. They are widely distributed throughout the country, with over 148 species belonging to 35 genera. Thailand is also home to several species that are found nowhere else in the world.

One of the most striking cicadas in Thailand is Trengganua sibylla, found in peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand. In its natural habitat, its wings display a mesmerizing pattern of green and black. Its distinctive appearance and unique song make it a sought-after species among cicada enthusiasts.
