The Last Time the Aurora Borealis Was Visible in Ohio

The last time the aurora borealis was visible in Ohio was on Friday, May 10, 2024. It was the first time the northern lights had been seen in the state in several years.

Although the aurora borealis tends to be localized to the northernmost regions of the world, it can sometimes be seen as far south as Ohio when solar activity is particularly strong.

The solar storm that is expected to hit Earth this weekend is expected to be strong enough to produce visible auroras as far south as Ohio. So, if you're in Ohio this weekend, be sure to keep an eye on the skies for a chance to see the aurora borealis.
