Leipzig continue impressive cup form
RB Leipzig booked their place in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night. Timo Werner gave the hosts an early lead, before Willi Orban doubled their advantage in the final seconds of the match.
Leipzig, who are fourth in the Bundesliga, were good value for their win and dominated large spells of the game. They were particularly impressive in the first half, and could have been more than one goal ahead at the break.
Dortmund, who are fifth in the league, improved after the interval but were unable to find a way back into the game. They had a few chances to equalise, but Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi was in inspired form.
Leipzig will now face either Hoffenheim or Schalke in the semi-finals, while Dortmund will be left to rue a missed opportunity to reach the last four.
